Museum of Modern Art New York
Museum of Modern Art New York has been important in developing and collecting modernist art, and is often identified as one of the largest and most influential museums of modern art in the world. This world-renowned collection is touted as the best of its kind on the planet, with its extensive displays of painting, sculpture, film, photography, and performance art. The idea for the Museum of Modern Art was developed in 1929 primarily by Abby Aldrich Rockefeller and two of her friends, Lillie P. Bliss and Mary Quinn Sullivan.
The Museum of Modern Art features dozens of exhibitions each year. Although you may feel as though you don’t know enough about modern art to truly appreciate a visit to the museum, there are plenty of names you are likely to recognize.
